An Application User is used by the UPLINX Remote Phone Control tool to access CUCM services.
In automatic mode, this Application User is automatically generated with the Access Control Groups below.
To use the Manual Mode to create an Application User on CUCM, you must first configure an Application User on CUCM and assign the Access Control Groups listed below.
We only recommend Manual Mode in highly secure deployments requiring specific security policies. If you encounter any issues with the manually created application user, please switch first to Automatically Configure Application User.
Instead of creating this Application User from scratch, please copy or modify the automatically created Application User.
The following Access Control Groups must be assigned to allow Phone Control Tool to access the various APIs on CUCM, such as AXL, CTI, and EM Proxy:
•Standard CCM Admin Users
•Standard CCM Server Monitoring
•Standard CTI Allow Call Monitoring
•Standard CTI Allow Call Park Monitoring
•Standard CTI Allow Call Recording
•Standard CTI Allow Control of All Devices
•Standard CTI Allow Control of Phones supporting Connected Xfer and conf
•Standard CTI Allow Control of Phones supporting Rollover Mode
•Standard CTI Enabled (only if CTI is configured in NON-secure mode)
•Standard EM Authentication Proxy Rights
If the CUCM cluster has security enabled and the CTI Manager service uses a secured connection, the following two Access Control Groups must also be assigned:
•Standard CTI Secure Connection
•Stardard CTI Allow Reception of SRTP Key Material
After the Application User has been created on CUCM, configure this CUCM Application User on the Server tab of the UPLINX Phone Control tool:
•Uncheck the Automatically configure Application User option and then
•Click on the [ User name and password...] button and enter the userId and password of the manually created Application User on CUCM.

The length of the Application User ID must be less than 32 characters due to phone limitations.
