Webex Access Token

UPLINX Report tool only uses read-only operations via the Webex REST API to retrieve the configuration data to generate the reports. The process how the temporary Webex access token is generated, is shown below. In the web browser, you will see a list of granted acess scopes that are all read-only. This will allow Report Tool to only retrieve configuration data from Webex in order to generate the report.

The tool only uses read-only operations via the Webex REST API to retrieve the configuration data to generate the reports. A temporary token is used to access the Webex REST API. The temporary access token is obtained by a Cisco-approved method (OAuth) from the Webex website by entering your administrator credentials only at the Cisco website. Therefore, UPLINX Report Tool never sees your credentials to keep them secure and safe. In addition, when generating configuration reports, all data is kept local - no configuration or user data is ever transmitted anywhere.

Missing Configuration Items in the Webex Configuration Report

UPLINX Report Tool must  retrieve configuration data through the Cisco Webex API, documented at https://developer.webex.com/docs/admin .

Unfortunately, many configuration items of Webex cannot be retrieved through the API of Cisco Webex. There are no other means to retrieve configuration data. UPLINX has opened feature requests for missing configuration items.

If you feel that UPLINX has missed something, and there is an API request to retrieve more information, please contact us with further details of the API request and screen-shots of the data missing.
