The Report Tool for Amazon may encounter an error when generating Word reports with the following error message:

No compatible Word version found! Found: Unknown. Word 2007/2010/2013/2016 required to generate a Word report.

This error may be caused by a recent downgrade of the Microsoft Office application. In that case, the registry key left over by a later version of Office must be manually deleted using the following steps:

• From the Windows Start menu, type the command "regedit";
• Navigate to the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{00062FFF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} in the Registry Editor launched;
• If Office has recently been downgraded from 2013, delete the sub key 9.5 under the abovementioned location;
• If Office has recently been downgraded from 2010, delete the sub key 9.4 under the abovementioned location.

Please note that this is a generic software issue for Microsoft Word and cannot be remedied by fixing it from our product. Also keep in mind that making registry changes is at your own risk – incorrect changes made may render some applications or Windows functionalities unusable. It is recommended to backup the registry before making any changes in case of damage.
