The UPLINX Remote Phone Control tool has the following hardware, software and network requirements:

Supported Operating Systems

Any Windows Operating System (PC or Server) 64-bit that is supported by Microsoft.

Recommended 6 GB RAM, at least i5 CPU

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8. Installer will prompt for installation if not installed.

Supported Cisco Servers

Cisco Unified Communications Manager versions 9.0 and later. Only CUCM versions that are supported by Cisco are supported by UPLINX. Software that has reached EOS/EOL by Cisco is no longer tested or supported by UPLINX but may still work.

Network Requirements

Connectivity from a Windows machine running the Uplinx Remote Phone Control to:

CUCM server

IP Phones

LAN connection from the Windows machine running the Uplinx Remote Phone Control to the servers. It can also work via VPN or any other IP connectivity as long as there is decent quality. Bandwidth must be at least 450 Kbps and max 100ms RTT. Please test the VPN QoS first with the demo version before purchasing a license.

It is not recommended to deploy background phone images over VPN or through firewalls. Please use LAN connectivity.

'Cisco CTI Manager' for JTAPI service must be running on at least one CUCM server in the cluster. To check or run this service, go to CUCM > 'Cisco Unified Serviceability'.

SRST Support

SRST is not supported, and some vendors claiming that SRST works are twisting the truth (to say this politely here). SRST mode cannot be supported as the phone's Authentication URL is pointing to CUCM and not the SRST router. The phone will not update the Authentication URL when switching over to the SRST router. Hence the phone will continue to authenticate towards CUCM which is no longer available. Therefore screenshots and key presses will not succeed. This is a Cisco limitation and there are no workarounds.

Supported Cisco IP Phones

Please see Supported Phones.

Supported User Locales

Please see Supported Phones and User Locales.
